Ofsted childcare register

The Ofsted Childcare Register (OCR), introduced in April 2007, replaced the Childcare Approval Scheme (CAS). If you would to be able to take advantage of the childcare element of working tax credits or use childcare vouchers, you need your nanny to be Ofsted Registered.

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They are a non-ministerial department that inspect services, providing education and skills for learners of all ages. They also inspect and regulate services that care for children and young people.
